The homies at BTNC have teamed up with Franky Bananas to release a super limited collabo tee for the shop and the brand. The t-shirt is a re-vamp of the classic Franky Bananas piece entitled "Califas" switched up with a new color way. Be sure to pick up one at BTNC before there gone!!!

Here is a little more info on the inspiration for this collabo....

"Growing up in a predominately Hispanic neighborhood, just hearing the word Califas takes me home. Paired with orange; repping OC, and the blue; repping the pacific coast, the Califas T is an homage to the BTNC lifestyle. To mix it up for BTNC we blacked out all the script on a black T and let the color do the talking we hope you enjoy it". -BTNC

Weathering The Storm with Jeremy Fish.

I was invited by my homie Shafagh to meet him at the Laguna Museum of Art to catch the opening reception of "Weathering The Storm" - by Jeremy Fish. To properly describe his work, I would say it is playfully political, friendly yet formidable, and delightfully disciplined.




I noticed considerable amounts of detail, from the palette of colors to create smooth highlights that ascend from deep shadows that share the same hue, complemented by subtle contrasting tones that balance out the subdued.







Every aspect from custom hand-carved frames, to painting the walls before mounting the work, takes more than talent and a steady hand...it involves insane amounts of discipline.








These owls were titled: Good Owl and Evil Owl.



Fish also had a show in Rome the next day, and I think another one somewhere else. It must be great to be in 3 parts of the world at the same time... Go check this show if you can, it runs till January 2010.

The Berlin Wall fell today (Nov.9) - 20 years ago.

The Infrared's

The Air Jordan VI (6) was released in late 1990/early 1991. In the 90-91 season Michael added the only thing missing in his awards and titles received in the NBA. The Bulls finally won the NBA Championships beating the LA Laker’s in the final. After having lost the first game they won four straight games and were without a doubt the strongest team in the NBA in a long time.

These always break my neck when I catch someone rocking these classic kicks. Good news for you sneaker heads out there, after a slew of very unpopular releases from Jordan brand this past year they seem to be writing a road of redemption. They are set to start the New Year off with a second re-release of the Air Jordan VI (infrared) in January.
